About

Kenda Kist Jewelry is handcrafted and designed by NC-based artist Kenda Kistenmacher. Growing up in Iowa and studying Metal Design at East Carolina University, I’ve always found inspiration in the world around me. My designs blend unique twists with timeless silhouettes, creating pieces that are functional, lightweight, and perfect for every occasion.

At the heart of Kenda Kist Jewelry is a deep commitment to sustainability and community. We source only the finest gemstones and responsibly mined precious metals, ensuring every piece is crafted with respect for both people and the planet. By choosing local artisans and materials whenever possible, we support our community and reduce our environmental footprint.

As a proud woman-owned, family-operated brand, we’re dedicated to fostering meaningful relationships—both with our customers and the talented artists and artisans who bring these designs to life. When you shop with Kenda Kist Jewelry, you’re not only investing in quality and sustainability, but also directly supporting local artists and craftsmanship.

MAGGIE - HEAD BENCH PRODUCTION + DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT

Maggie joined us during the pandemic as an intern on assembly and quickly proved herself a natural at hammering and soldering, moving into bench production with ease. Now a senior studying Metal Design at Appalachian State, Maggie recently studied abroad in Italy, further enriching her craft and perspective. She’s become the go-to team member for developing new design drops, expertly helping move projects from concept to production. Over the past two years, her support in design development has been invaluable. Maggie continues to help out during school breaks while exploring wax carving and creating graphics for local bands. Bright, creative, and always smiling, Maggie’s passion for jewelry design shines through as she pursues a career in the field.

IZZY - PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

Izzy first joined us as an intern in the spring of 2022, and we’ve been lucky to have her ever since. Now a freshman at Elon University — and a member of the marching band — Izzy returns to the studio during school breaks, always bringing her trademark energy, curiosity, and joy. A talented drummer with impeccable music taste, she's a natural with the hammers and tools. Our Saturday chats about music, feminism, and life are legendary. Simply put: Izzy is the coolest, and every time she walks through the door, the whole place lights up.

DAN - PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

Dan is a junior at NC State studying Fashion Design, with a strong passion for sustainable fashion. As a Production Assistant, he brings creativity, attention to detail, and a deep commitment to ethical design. Dan is also an entrepreneur, having launched his own sustainable fashion brand while still in school. Visit his website here www.apologiesformakingthis.com When he's not working on the next big idea, you can find him cheering on his favorite New England sports teams.

ERICA - PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

Erika is a senior at NC State majoring in Design Studies, bringing energy, precision, and creativity to her role as a Production Assistant. Outside of the studio, she leads as a drum major in the NC State marching band — a role that highlights her leadership and dedication. Fun fact: Erika is a huge fan of No Doubt, which just so happens to be the favorite band of her supervisor — despite a 30-year age gap. Some things really are timeless.

LAUREN - PRODUCTION COORDINATOR

Lauren has been a trusted part of the team for several years and is our quality control, inventory, and shipping extraordinaire. With a sharp eye for detail, she ensures every piece meets our highest standards before it reaches customers. Outside of work, Lauren loves all things Halloween, art, rescue animals, and spending time with her family. Fun fact: she’s been vegan for over 20 years.

FRAN

I’ve known Fran for many years, first as a frequent customer to my days working at Gypsy Jule. She’s always been one of our biggest fans and is now our special events coordinator (also Christina’s Mom) If you have been to any of our parities or special events, you know and love her! Fran is our hostess with the mostest. She loves to cook and gather with her friends and family.
